Hertz Global Holdings has decided that the easiest way to get ahead in China is to hitch a ride.
At the beginning of this year the US car rental company had just five outlets in China, but in April it took a 20 per cent stake in its largest Chinese peer, China Auto Rental Holdings, for an undisclosed sum.
The groups signed a deal under which they will funnel customers to each other. Hertz will attach its brand to China Auto Rental’s 700 outlets.
