Chinese factory gate prices declined for a second month in August as the manufacturing sector remained under pressure, while consumer price growth hovered at an 18-month high as pork prices surged.
Factory gate prices dipped 0.8 per cent year on year in August, according to National Bureau of Statistics released on Tuesday, or the sharpest fall in three years. A Reuters poll had forecast a deeper 0.9 per cent drop for the measure of profit growth in the industry.
