Whether the blood-letting of his departure came from falling on his sword or a knife to the back, there was general agreement yesterday that his 18-month reign was being brought to a necessary close.
“History should be kinder to Jerry Yang,” said Allen Weiner, managing vice president at the Gartner research firm.
“He took on an unenviable task, like a leader taking on the throne amid great turmoil. Given what he had, he did what he could, and I think the best thing he did was to set things up to allow him to move on.”
