People using the Chinese food delivery app Meituan received a new offer this week: would they like to buy a smartphone with their noodle, dumplings and pizza orders?
“Buy on Meituan and get it to your door in 30 minutes,” said the advert for Huawei’s new phone, which was sent to users in three major cities.
The Beijing-based company, China’s market leader with a $64bn market capitalisation, aims to take advantage of its hundreds of thousands of couriers as the economy restarts with the coronavirus crisis easing in the country.
