Lawson, one of Japan's leading convenience stores, is looking to expand aggressively in China where it aims to increase store numbers by 10 times in the next five to 10 years.
Takeshi Niinami, president, said yesterday he expected the Chinese market for convenience stores to expand strongly over the next few years to about 3,000 stores.
“We want to be a player with a 10 per cent share,” he said.
