Jungle Jim’s International Market is a Cincinnati retail landmark, stocking items from 75 countries in stores populated by giraffe and rhino statues. If any grocer in the US Midwest city is exposed to the cost of President Donald Trump’s tariffs, it is Jungle Jim’s.
Yet founder Jim Bonaminio said business had been flourishing at his two locations this year. Behind one of them, earth movers are levelling soil to add 250 spots to the car park.
“Our sales are up, big time,” he said.
