Donald Trump has cast further doubt on prospects for the summit he has agreed to hold with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un next month, despite an attempt by Seoul to salvage the potentially historic meeting.
Accompanied in the Oval Office by South Korean president Moon Jae-in, Mr Trump suggested that the June 12 summit, which is due to take place in Singapore, could be delayed.
“If it doesn’t happen, maybe it will happen later,” the US president said on Tuesday. “It may not work out for June 12.” He added: “There are certain conditions that we want and I think we’ll get those conditions and if we don’t, we don’t have the meeting.”
