China will “significantly lower” import tariffs on imported vehicles, President Xi Jinping said in a speech on Tuesday morning.
Mr Xi was speaking at the Bo’ao Forum for Asia just hours after US President Donald Trump complained in a tweet that China’s 25 per cent tariff on imported cars was 10 times that assessed by the US.
“Does that sound like free or fair trade,” Mr Trump said. “No, it sounds like STUPID trade.”
