At least one person is likely to welcome Jeb Bush to the 2016 US presidential race should he be the Republican candidate: the prohibitive favourite to be the Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton.
If both were the candidates for their respective parties, it might help to deflect the inevitable attacks that they represent political dynasties and all the baggage that comes with such intergenerational privilege.
After all, neither Mrs Clinton, a former secretary of state, nor Mr Bush, a two-time Florida governor, are the idiot offspring of wealthy families. Both have long and accomplished records in public life.
