Malaysia's prime minister Najib Razak has announced Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 went down in the southern Indian Ocean far from land, according to new satellite data.
In a statement, he said fresh analysis by the satellite operator Inmarsat and British investigators had shed more light on MH370's flight path.
Based on this, investigators had concluded that the plane flew along the southern corridor and that its last position was in the middle of the Indian Ocean, west of Perth.
