Melco Crown Entertainment, one of Macao’s casino operators controlled by the son of tycoon Stanley Ho, is banking on a new $250m dance and music stage show to promote its brand in mainland China.
Advertisements for gambling are banned in China, the Macao casinos’ biggest market.
Lawrence Ho, chief executive, said on Wednesday that more Chinese visitors had been going to the City of Dreams, Melco’s newest property that will permanently host the performance, since it started marketing the House of Dancing Water on the mainland recently.
