You have been to business school and graduated with an MBA. But what is the best way to exploit your qualification? Who do you tell about it and what do you say to them? And, perhaps most important, how do you do so without coming across as boastful, smug or arrogant?
Where does it belong when applying for jobs?
Julia Zupko, director of career management at Chicago Booth Business School, says that in interview situations it is particularly important to highlight your experiences and then tie these to your MBA. “Part of what an MBA provides are new ways of thinking. So start with the skills and experience and then bring in your MBA. Offer credible examples of how you put your MBA to work and how it makes you more effective.”
