The US and China have intensified efforts to strike a truce at the G20 that would curb their trade war.
Negotiators stepped up efforts after Donald Trump, US president, and Xi Jinping, his Chinese counterpart, spoke on the phone on November 1 and agreed to discuss trade when they meet on the G20 sidelines. The summit opens in Buenos Aires on November 30.
Following the call, China responded to US requests to address a range of sticking points, and the possibility of concessions was discussed in several telephone negotiations between senior officials in Beijing and Washington.
