Chinese telecoms group ZTE Corp has labelled the US ban on American companies selling parts to it “extremely unfair” and said that it could not accept the decision.
The US Commerce department banned American companies from doing any business with ZTE on Monday. The move comes after ZTE agreed to pay up to $1.2bn in fines and plead guilty to criminal charges of violating US sanctions on North Korea and Iran.
ZTE said on Friday that the latest order will not only seriously jeopardise its survival but also harm the interests of its partners, including a large number of US companies.
