Foreign fast-food chains in China face possible supply chain disruption as authorities step up checks on a meat supplier after allegations that it was passing off expired products as fresh.
The State Food and Drug Administration yesterday ordered checks on all eight mainland processing plants owned by OSI Group, a US company, after a television station found that meat past its sell-by date was being relabelled in Shanghai.
It also ordered checks on all clients of the plant, Shanghai Husi Food, which has been closed.
